Vitalik Buterin – co-founder of Ethereum – has criticized Putin and his latest exercise in warmongering.
Yesterday, the Russian military launched a “special military operation” (as Vladimir Putin calls it) in Ukraine. However, everything indicates that this is the beginning of a larger invasion that could disturb the peace on the continent.
Vitalik Buterin criticized this act, calling it “a crime against the Ukrainian and Russian people”. Despite being born in Russia, the 28-year-old programmer ended his speech with the words “Glory to Ukraine”.
In his latest tweet, Vitalik Buterin said he was “very upset” by Vladimir Putin’s decision to start a war with Ukraine. In his opinion, the military operation will have devastating consequences for the citizens of Ukraine and Russia.
The Ethereum co-creator also expresses pessimism that the conflict will be resolved diplomatically. Vitalik glumly predicted: “I know there will be no security.”
Buterin, born in Russia, appears to be speaking out against his homeland in this war dispute. He stated that while Ethereum is neutral, it is not.
Reminder: Ethereum is neutral, but I am not.

Vitalik Buterin and the reaction of the financial markets
The growing tension between the two nations has caused major disruptions in the cryptocurrency and financial markets. Bitcoin has dropped to nearly $34,000 while most altcoins are also in the red.
The market capitalization of digital assets has dropped below $1.6 trillion, meaning it has declined by around $200 billion since yesterday.
It remains to be seen how the “great nations” will approach armed conflict. US President Joe Biden called Russia’s attack “unprovoked and unjustified”.
He also warned Putin of “other consequences” if the aggression continues soon.
Boris Johnson – the prime minister of Great Britain – also sided with Ukraine. He said Britain would provide a package of military support to the attacked nation and impose severe sanctions on Russia.
